Courses for starters, intermediates and advanced.

Starters
Includes all the teory of kitesurfing, security and how the equipment works. Recognizing the different types of gear. We get the firs steps in the water: “body drag” (dragging the body over the water), “waterstart” (leaving from the water) and "downwind” (sailing at the wind direction). Notions of the diferent kinds of wind, weather conditions and effects of the wind on land and sea. Recognizing places to have a safe practice. We learn how to rise the kite from the water and self rescue in the water.

Intermediates
We learn the theory and practice of tricks and jumps, how to glide with the board. Recognizing the wind. Priority rules. Practice with the board and perfecting the body position at the different basic tricks.

Advanced
Perfecting jumps and basic tricks. Advanced tricks and practice with professionals.

Certification
KiteCenter Pipa Kitesurf School is certified by IKO(International Kiteboarding Organization) for teaching kitesurfing.

Why is this certification important?
Since its foundation on november 2001 IKO created a web of certifiers and 1000 certified instructors. IKO mission is investigating and promoting the safe practice of kitesurfing. As a result of that, IKO published two important reading handbooks: “Kiteboarders workbook” with teory and explanation of ilustrated exercises and details, and “Kiteboarders Vision”: essencial guide for starters and advanced. Just like IKO, the KiteCenter Pipa Kitesurfing School prioritize the safe practice of this radical sport.
