COSTUME PARTY

Since 2005, the well-known “Pipian,” Missinho, has organized one of Pipa’s best parties: the “Festa à Fantasia” (Costume Party), now an annual tradition. Friends have turned the event into such a success that it grows with each passing year. Keeping pace with the general revelry and the euphoric feeling in the air, the spirit begs to be carried away by the costume that each person chooses. Fairies, sultans, witches, odalisques, pirates, gypsies, vampires, sailors, fairytale characters and well-loved cartoon characters all abound. Missinho greets participants personally in his home on Rua da Mata, near Vila Olímpica da Pipa. Entrance can be paid with money or with a food donation, and the proceeds of this collection are generally directed to Projeto Afeto, an innovative project that strives to assist the municipality’s special needs residents, headed by Tânia Casellato. “Festa à Fantasia” is the “happening” of August, and it’s worth checking out the next one!
