Everything about Pipa has its own unique flavour
and Carnival is no different.

During the holiday Pipa is visited by those who are looking to escape from the agitation of Carnival. But when Ash Wednesday comes along there isn't a Cristian who doesn't succumb to the license and fun provided by Yahoo's bloco (parade).

Created in 1992 by the owners of the Yahoo Pousada as a way of rewarding the dedication of its employees, Yahoo's bloco has become a popular tradition amongst the people of Pipa.

So don't be shocked if on this day you come across all the population travestied as "whores" and "men" to celebrate Carnival with much joy and simplicity under the banner of Yahoo's bloco.
