Cláudio Luz takes as inspiration
for the forms, textures and colours of
his work.
The Atlantic forests, the sea and Northeastern
daily life with its “retirantes” (refugees of the drought), folklore, music
and dance.

Cláudio was born in Paraty in the
state of Rio de Janeiro but nowadays has
his studio in Pipa.

Here he has developed a technique of his
own working in 3D in cement on wood, surpassing
himself with each piece, blending paint,
sculpture and engraving.

Artist characteristics: Works at cement over wood painted with organic pigments. His frames have various sizes, varying from 27x25cm the smaller frames, 60x25 the biggest, and even one meter wide panels.
Works in paper and using natural fibers from the Atlantic Forest. Light stands and abajours, decoration pieces also using natual fibers.
One of his most significant works was donated to the Catholic Church of Pipa. They are 14 frame representing the Via Crucis.
